The birthplace of Robert Louis Stevenson, 8 Howard Place, Edinburgh
Description
A view of a terraced house in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh. The stone house has sash windows on ground and first floor levels. The windows at ground level have a simple stone design across the top. The house is separated from the cobbled street in front by a low stone wall with railings on top.

Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Howard Place in November 1850. Howard Place is situated in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh, about ¾ of a mile north of the east end of Princes Street.
