This image poses how the leaders of the Central Powers may look 'in a year and a half,' given their impending defeat. Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, King Constantine I of Greece, King Ferdinand I of Bulgaria, Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary, and Sultan Mehmed V of the Ottoman Empire sit on a bench in common clothing, appearing as downtrodden, average and aged men. No longer the preeminent leaders of European countries, they are nothing more than five more men sitting in town.
The
Louis Raemaekers Foundation
have published a book of his works entitled, 'Louis Raemaekers - with pen and pencil as a weapon'.
