Description
Prince Mitsuuji stands with a samisen in his hands and looks towards a young girl wearing a floral headdress. She is holding up a low table upon which rests an ornamental arrangement. The arrangement comprises of a rock, a rising sun, a moon, a turtle, a wish fulfilling jewel and a crane. A boy, kneeling on the ground, also presents the man with an ornamental decoration. Upon his small table rests a lucky treasure ship (takarabune) with a dragon headed prow. These auspicious symbolic decorations were associated with the New Year festivities.
