Title
Caribbean Slavery and the New Town of Edinburgh, part 1 - Routes to Roots Podcast
Description
This is a podcast from Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council's Heritage Lottery funded Routes to Roots project podcast series.
This podcast is the start of a three part series about Edinburgh's connection with slavery and the slave trade. In the series we explore the streets of the New Town with ELREC's Honorary President Sir Professor Geoff Palmer OBE to look at this often unknown history and the people the streets are named after.
In part one, we focus on Forth Street, who claimed compensation and how some of the riches from slavery were used.
