Green silk banner for the Ancient Order of Foresters.
Description
One green silk banner for the Ancient Order of Foresters. The banner has a red silk border and painted decoration on both sides. The obverse features a title scroll cartouche that reads, 'A.O.F. COURT HEART OF MID-LOTHIAN NO. 5180'. The mantling is gold and silver. The centre panel features the all seeing eye at the top, above the Madonna and child, and two angels. In the foreground there are two foresters as supporters, on the left holding a bow, wearing a green coat and red sash, on the right, holding a spear, wearing a red coat and green sash, in the centre, the Foresters Coat of Arms, resting on a lion and lamb. The motto scroll reads, 'BENEVOLENTIA ET UNITAS CONCORDIA'.
