Bristo Street ran from Chapel Street to the present day Bristo Place, previously its southernmost section. The section of the street from Bristo Place to Chapel Street was destroyed in the development of Bristo Square in 1982.
Charles Street in Edinburgh leads away from the north-east corner of George Square. It linked George Square to Bristo Street until the development of Bristo Square in the 1980's, during which this section of Bristo Street was removed.
