The cobbled road of Princes Street appears deserted apart from a hand cart and horse and cart. Along the pavement there is street lighting. On either side of the road are grand buildings including the Royal Scottish Academy with its elaborate porticos and stone statues of Queen Victoria and reclining sphinxes. In the distance is the Scott Monument.
