Description
On the high ground above a rail yard are Calton Gaol and the monuments on Calton Hill, which include Nelson's Monument, the Royal Observatory and Dugald Stewart's Monument. An obelisk stands next to the towers of the prison. In the rail yard there are carriages, rolling stock, sheds and other machinery. Railway workers are standing near to the tracks and some of the wagons.
