Description

Tenement buildings are above shops on street level in the Canongate, Edinburgh. The shops include the Balerno Dairy and a grocer called Milne & Co. Next to the grocers is the arched entrance to Big Jock's [Jack's] Close. On the cobblestone road there are horse droppings.
