Description
A view down a narrow wynd in Edinburgh. There are tall buildings on either side of the narrow street, and a wooden gate at the end. Pieces of stone and rubble lie in the street.

The accompanying text in the volume reads:
"18. General view of the College Wynd from a point near its upper end. The Wynd was the main approach to the Old College of Edinburgh which was entered by a gateway surmounted by a lofty tower opposite the head of the wynd. Oliver Goldsmith is believed to have lodged in the wynd when he was a student at Edinburgh University about 1750."
