Description
The old High School on Regent Road built in a classical style with imposing columns. The crenellated towers of Calton Gaol can be seen on the left. Just visible above the school building is the top of Nelson's Monument.

Edinburgh High School was built on what is now called Infirmary Street in 1578. The School moved to Regent Road in 1829, and stayed in those grand premises until moving to Barnton in 1969.
