Trinity College Kirk

Description

The front entrance to Trinity College Kirk, Edinburgh. It has a central arched entranceway to the left of which is a tall arched window with pinnacles. In front of the kirk three children are playing a game. Two boys are standing the other is kneeling. A stone built bridge to the side behind the church has a horse-drawn coach crossing it.

Trinity College Church was established in 1460 on a site close to where Waverly Station now stands. It was dismantled in 1848 by the North British Railway Company, and rebuilt twenty four years later in its present location on Jeffrey Street.
