Title
Square cardboard placard with black and red ink text which reads 'You're beautiful for a black girl'.
Description
This placard references the Western and Eurocentric beauty standards society places on women, which does not allow for any diversity of skin tone, body shape, hair or facial features.
Racist attitudes can be pervasive and unconscious bias a very real problem. The exoticism and fetishisation of Black women is one example of such attitudes and bias.
