A former resident who grew up at no. 6 St James' Place, situated at the top of Cathedral Lane, has kindly shared further information about the tenement block depicted. The numbers of the houses shown (nos 5 to 10 St James' Place) are as follows:
No. 5 - a tenement block next to the cobbled lane access to the old stable and yard
No 6 - 2 flats on separate levels (top flat with attic access)
no 7 - a basement level disused shop which connected to the stable and yard behind and below the flats
no 8 - 1 house on 2 levels with attic and a private garden area at the back
no 9 - a tenement block built over no 10
no 10 - 1 house on 1 level with a private garden area at the back.
