Description

One banner panel in traditional Polish design with a dark brown satin background. The banner has silver foliate scrolls at the top and bottom. The centre of the banner is decorated with a Polish eagle motif in silver on a red background, and multi-coloured floral designs in the centre, left and right of the eagle.

Made for the 'Our Place Textile Tent Project' for the Peoples of Edinburgh exhibition at the City Art Centre, 1996-97. It was made by members of a Polish community group, and designed by Rachael Mimiec and Clare Higney. The design was inspired by silverware.
