Originally belonged to the Craigentinny branch of the SCWG, which existed from 1938-1968. When Craigentinny branch disbanded the banner was given to Restalrig branch. The Restalrig branch disbanded in 1980. Members met in a wooden hut down Smokey Brae, and later at Craigentinny Castle, which is depicted on the banner. It seems likely that the piece of fabric on which the world RESTALRIG is painted covers over the former branch name, Craigentinny
