Obverse View of Grange Colliery Union Banner

Description

One obverse view of a cream cotton Grange Colliery Union Banner. The banner is painted differently on both sides. The border tape is made of linen. The title scroll cartouche reads, 'GRANGE COLLIERY', and below, '8 JULY 1892', (gold on blue with red shadowing lettering). The decoration consists of a strap and buckle with thistles at the bottom, and, 'VIGILANTIA NON CADET (gold on red lettering) within the border is a stags head rising from a wreath.
