Lochend is a suburb of Edinburgh, south of Leith. It is centred on Lochend Park and Lochend House. The house was built around 1820, on the site of Lochend Castle, the home of the Logans of Restalrig. The castle was destroyed in the late 16th Century and all that remains is one of the gables and a beehive doo'cot or plague kiln which once belonged to the castle.
