A view down Leith Walk with the gardens of Gayfield Square to the left. A row of tall tenement buildings lines the street. In front of the gardens stands a queue of horse-cabs waiting for work. The first horse has his nose in a feedbag. The broad cobbled expanse of Leith Walk can be seen.
