South Leither William Hanley, now of PirnieFeild Gardens. is seen here 50 years ago with his father, who farmed what was then Fillyside Market Garden, just to the South of Leith Crematorium. The plough used was fitted with a "Reversible mould"an ingenious invention by a local man which enabled ploughs to come back on the same furrow and so was particularly efficient for smaller farms. This Field continued up to what is now Pirniefield Bank.
