Edward Salvesen (1857-1942) was the son of Christian Salvesen, the founder of the Christian Salvesen shipping line. He was a lawyer and was appointed a judge of the Court of Session in 1905, holding the position until 1922. He stood as a parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Unionist party on two occasions but was unsuccessful.
