This early tank was a monster. Julian was its 'Class' name, and it was paraded in several Scottish cities to boost the sale of War Savings Certificates. Julian visited Leith in 1916, and members of the public were allowed to see inside it, on purchasing a certificate.
For several years following the 1914-18 war Julian was left on the Links in front of Leith Academy - a marvellous piece of playground equipment for the school children.
