Title
Queen Mary's Bath
Description
Donald Campbell's poem is inspired by a sketch by Walter Geikie:
Queen Mary's Bath
Queen Mary liked to bathe in wine
as far as anybody knows.
The effect, she thought, was anodyne
and, being of the Stuart line
she likely thought she was divine
and could do as she chose.
so Mary Stuart bathed in wine
- or so the story goes.
