Brass bell pull. Square brass plate with hole through which metal rod ending in brass handle is inserted. Hole through brass just above handle. Stamped into brass: 'Perforated by a piece of bomb/ Result of Zeppelin air raid on Edinburgh/ April 2nd 1916'.

This brass bell pull from an Edinburgh house was damaged by shrapnel during the April 1916 Zeppelin raid on Edinburgh. It was kept as a souvenir and later engraved with its story.
