H.G. Banks a well known lithographic artist during this period created colourful music sheet illustrations that were a witty representation of current trends, Daisy Bell is an appropriate example. The cover for the music sheet Daisy Bell Waltz, has in centre stage a large traditional bell constructed entirely of daisies with the title Daisy Bell spelt out in daisies along the top. The bell is wrapped round in a pink sash with the words 'Founded on Harry Dacre's Popular Song, Sung by Miss Katie Lawrence'. At the bottom of the bell a couple riding a tandem are being pulled along by a cupid figure on a small bicycle.

The phrase 'a bicycle built for two' is infamously the inspiration for this humorous song, prompting the English Composer Harry Dacre to create this catchy song which became an instant hit spawning many adaptations and additional verses.
