The print depicts three actors in a scene from a Kabuki play.
The right sheet shows Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Shogun Taro Yoshikado (son of the evil pretender Masakado). The other two actors, unidentified, play the roles of Omatsu a Country Girl, actually Lady Kikyo-no-mae, and ** [cut] Choko no Chokohei (on the table with a fan) played by Ichikawa Kodanji IV.'[T.
