Description
Captain William Ewart Gladstone-Millar is being visited by family and friends. After being wounded at Highwood, the Somme June 1916 he spent a year convalescing part of which was spent at Bangour Village Hospital. Bangour is situated near Broxburn, West Lothian. The hospital was taken over by the War Office in 1915 for use as a military hospital. At its peak it housed 3000 casualties.
