Title
Woman with bolts of fabric
Description
A woman is shown holding several bolts of fabric, as if displaying a range of designs to a customer. To her left stand piles of wrapped fabric. She may be a fabric merchant. Behind her, a low writing table is visible. The green fabric overflowing from a wooden box, at the bottom of the sheet, is decorated with the Japanese character meaning 'great' or 'big' (dai). This could be the crest of a particular textile wholesaler.
