McEwan Hall is situated immediately to the west of Bristo Square. It was designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson and built between 1888-97 with funds donated by the brewer
William McEwan
. The hall's principal function is as a venue for graduations, but it also hosts concerts, public events and examinations.
