Biography
Shirley Harrison was an architect who followed his father, Stockdale Harrison and his brother James, into his father's architectural practice in 1904. From then on the Leicester firm was known as Stockdale Harrison and Sons, and many of the arts and crafts style works which came out of the practice were designed by Shirley. In partnership with H. H. Thompson, Shirley notably designed the landmark De Montfort Hall in Leicester and won the architectural competition for Edinburgh's Usher Hall.
