Archway on west side of the Vennel
Description
An archway covers a narrow Edinburgh street. The Vennel has a building on one side and a wall topped with railings on the other. A large streetlight is fixed to the buildings wall. At the end a set of stone steps lead up to a stone gateway with iron gates. A bucket lies abandoned in the street.

The Vennel is a narrow street in Edinburgh leading from West Port near the Grassmarket to Heriot Place near George Heriot's School. 'Vennel' is a Scots word meaning 'steep lane'.
