Edinburgh and Scottish Collection
The premises of Parisian Photographic Company were situated on Princes Street on the corner with Hanover Street and were managed by Madame Bomont. The company also had another studio in Birmingham. There aim was to emulate high-class artistic photography practiced in Paris and bring it to Edinburgh. The studio used electric lighting to achieve clearer results, and to eradicate the problem of limited Scottish daylight. The company undertook every description of photography: 'indoor or outdoor, including buildings, groups, parties, horses, domestic pets etc.' as well as offering portraiture in oils and watercolours.
