Centre fold page taken from 'Guide to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's Park at Edinburgh' dated c1959.
On the opening page of the guide in large lettering is the advice to visitors to the zoo:
'WARNING: The Public are urgently warned not to approach too near the Cages of the large Carnivora, and NEVER to lean over ANY barriers or put their hands between bars. The apparent tameness of the animals gives no assurance that, should opportunity offer, they may not be dangerous.'
