Ferdinando Ongania [1842 - 1911] was an Italian antiquarian bookseller, with a shop in St. Mark's Square in Venice. From 1861 until his death in 1911 he devoted himself almost entirely to the printing of illustrated art books. His love of Venice inspired him to record the architecture of his beloved city.

Description for this print from the original index page from the publication:
"The Church was built by the Architect Moli in the style of the decadence, in 1659. It is now suppressed, and the works of Art which adorned it have, for the greater part, gone to enrich foreign Museums. The Gothic building near it was destined for the meetings of the Confraternity under the auspices of S. Maria della Misericordia, and as a Hospital for the poor."
