Loch Achray is a fresh water loch situated between Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar, near Callender, in Stirlingshire. The south side of the loch is a wooded area and well served by woodland tracks and forest roads for the many visitors the area gets. The Loch is popular with Fishermen and the area itself with walkers, especially due to mountains of Ben A'An and Ben Venue which are nearby.
On the bank of Loch Achray stands the historic Trossach Church, a gothic style church it was built in 1849 along with an inn (which became the former Tigh Mor Trossachs hotel).
The Church and Inn were built by the factor of the estate, Lewis Kennedy & his son, an architect, G P Kennedy. The church was built after a petition by the parish to the presbytery asking for a church and the project was funded and maintained by the generous landowners of the time Lord and Lady Willoughby d'Eresby.
