Loch Tummel is a long, narrow loch near Pitlochry, in Perthshire. The loch is approximately 11 kilometres long and 1 kilometre wide. At the head of the loch are two bridges, one built by General Wade in 1730 and a more modern day bridge which is used for traffic.

The picture is taken from an area called the Queens View, a high point set on the North side of the loch. The Queens view gives a superb view over the loch, Schiehallion to the west and Rannoch Moor. The name Queens View was thought to be named after Queen Victoria however the vantage point actually takes its name from the 14th century Queen Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce.
