Lochranza Castle was originally built in 1200's for a rich, powerful family by the name of MacSween. The castle is said to have been the landing place of Robert the Bruce when he returned from Ireland. It has many changes over the years from home to hunting lodge and has had many owners from the MacSweens to Walter Stewart, The Earl of Menteith.
