Carried by the Edinburgh Tinplate Workers in the Great Demonstration Against the Criminal Law Amendment Act, on Saturday 13 August
1873. This Act was passed in 1871 and restricted picketing, leading to the prosecution of trade unionists. A witty banner, as a tinker was a mender of tin ware.
