She is carrying a creel and scull (types of basket) on her back. Behind her can be seen stone steps with railings, and a window with net curtains hanging in it.

The fishwife in this picture is Aggie Rennie. For her everyday work, she would have worn navy blue skirts, a striped apron, a cape and stockings. The outfit she wears here would have only been worn on special occasions.
