The firemen of Torphichen Street Fire Station stand with a horse-drawn steam pump. Some are sitting on the appliance whilst others stand beside it. They are all wearing uniforms with Merryweather helmets. In the background the fire station has the words "Fire Engine House" cut into the stonework.
