Inscription plate and title page at front of a book of Robert Burns poetry
Description
A double page from a Robert Burns book of poems open at the title page. A bookplate has been stuck inside the cover to indicate the book was given as second prize in a Burns Competition by the Edinburgh District Burns Clubs Association. The decorated incription plate has the motto on it, 'Better a wee bush than nae bield', meaning it's better to have a small tree to shelter under than no shelter at all.
