Architectural plans Central Fire Station - Ground Floor
Description
Architectural plans for the ground floor of the Central Fire Station at Lauriston Place, Edinburgh. The rooms consist of workshops at the left hand side, gymnasium, recreation room, office and firemaster's room in the centre and the engine room and stable to the right. Another block of stables runs along the far side of the courtyard. The plans are signed by Robert Morham.

Lauriston Place Fire Station was opened in 1900 and is now a Category A Listed building. It was designed by Robert Morham in an Arts & Craft style. It was an operational fire station until 1988, now it is the Headquarters of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service and home to the Museum of Fire.
