Dean of Guild petition for Fire Station at Lauriston Place - page 3
Description
Page 3 of a Dean of Guild Court petition. The petition is written to "The Lord Provost, Magistrates and Council of the City of Edinburgh. For Warrant to erect new Central Fire Station at Cattle Market". It is dated 14th April 1798 and signed by Thomas Hunter WS, the petitioners agent.

Lauriston Place Fire Station was opened in 1900 and is now a Category A Listed building. It was designed by Robert Morham in an Arts & Craft style. It was an operational fire station until 1988, now it is the Headquarters of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service and home to the Museum of Fire.
