Biography
Louis Marx and Company was founded in 1919 by American brothers Louis and David Marx. The company was a highly successful producer of tin toys, action figures, mechanical toys, train sets and many other types. Marx Toys were also produced in the UK at a subsidiary of the company from 1932 to 1967. At the height of the company's success, Louis Marx was labelled the 'Henry Ford of the toy industry'. By the late 1970s, the brand had disappeared, and rights for some of the more popular toys were sold to other companies.
