Title
Kimono Study
Description
A figurative painting of a woman posing in a Japanese style Kimono. The woman stands in profile twisting away from the viewer. Behind her is a very decorative screen with large geometric shapes, which contrast the flower pattern of the Kimono. The decorative screen is painted to look like the interior of a room. A false shelf holds a yellow vase with a flower. The Kimono is red and blue with white and red flowers. The woman holds open a yellow curtain with her right hand allowing a small glimpse to the background setting of the artist's studio. With the right hand the woman holds her Kimono together to keep her undergarments from showing.
