Edinburgh United Breweries Ltd was registered as a limited liability company in 1889, when it took over four brewing businesses in Edinburgh. These were Robert Disher & Co, Edinburgh & Leith Brewery; David Nicolson, Palace Brewery, Robin MacMillan & Co, Summerhall Brewery and Ritchie & Son, Bell's Brewery. In 1934, court orders were issued to wind up the company and in 1943 it was finally dissolved.
