Excerpt from page "Spring Gardens Abbeyhill 1785 - To be sold feued, or let in tack. The house and garden contigious to Comely Gardens Edin four small enclosures opposite to the same upon the north side of the high road, six acres of the meadows lying between the high road and Restalrig immediately below the bridge over the Tumble and the dung ponds at the head of the meadows....." Caledonian Mercury Sept 19 1785.
