This is a photograph from the book 'Origin, nomenclature and location of various houses and streets in Edinburgh'.
Gifford Park runs between Beccleuch St and Clerk Street . Part of the the St Leonard's Clearance Scheme, a survey of the St Leonard's area of Edinburgh was carried out by Edinburgh Council between 1927-29. This was in advance of the demolition and reconstruction of much of the area.
