A fine house stands surrounded by rubble and bits of masonry from the remains and ruins of past buildings. A man sits on a stone bench in front of the house, while cattle graze in the open courtyard.

Item dated 1800. Rubislaw House was built by Arthur Forbes in 1675. In 1687 Sir George Skene of Fintray bought the house and it is his memorial that we see above the main door.
