Clachan Ossian is believed to be the burial ground of Ossian, the Celtic warrior found in many Scottish poems and legends. Originally the standing stone stood in the centre of the raised circle, but was moved to one side when Wade built his military road. When excavated, a small cist revealed a collection of burnt bones.
